Drawing on over a hundred years of experience and craftsmanship in making world class acoustic pianos, Yamaha's YDPS31 Arius digital piano offers an exceptionally natural key touch that virtually replicates that of an actual grand piano. It features a Graded Hammer Standard keyboard with realistic matte black finish key tops, and a damper pedal that includes an authentic Half Damper effect, giving you nuanced expressive control over the sustained sound--far more realistic than a simple on/off footswitch.

Other features include a dark alder wood finish, folding key cover, built-in song recorder and metronome that's great for lessons, and 50 specially selected piano songs of standard piano repertoire built into the YDPS31 to get you started.

The ARIUS series utilize Yamaha's sophisticated AWM (Advanced Wave Memory) Stereo Sampling for the instrumental voices--faithfully reproducing all of the dynamic details and sonic nuances of the original. Taken at different 3 levels of soft, medium and loud each key is comprised of multiple stereo recordings of an actual grand piano. This provides subtle differences in volume and timbre depending on how you play the keys, and gives you full expressive control over the sound.
